About Us
How We Got started
David and Annette Lindsey moved from the Dallas/Fort Worth area to Bennington Oklahoma in 1999. They missed their club they helped found back in the metroplex-The Lone Star State Dulcimer Society. During the Sawdust Festival at Masterworks in 2000 they put out a signup sheet for anyone interested in starting up a dulcimer club in the north Texas, southern Oklahoma area. From that list the Red River Valley Dulcimer Club was born.
What we do
Our meetings are held every 3rd Saturday of each month at Sunset View Baptist Church in Durant OK. The address is 724 N McLean Dr. Durant OK 74701.
Meetings are from 10:00 am-2:00 pm
Our goal is to promote the music and the traditional instruments such as mountain dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, guitar, fiddle, bass, mandolin, and banjo. Our membership is free and we love to help people get started on the dulcimers. We do enjoy playing for groups and special events. Check our Events page and check us out on Facebook.
