Happy New Year!!!

We here at RRVDC sincerely hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year with family and friends. It has been a busy season for most of us, now it’s time to get down to business again and learn some new tunes!!!!  So break out those dulcimers and start practicing, this promises to be an exciting year ahead.

The January meeting of the RRVDC will be at David’s Dulcimer’s in Bennington on January 17, 2015.  This will be our Annual January Potluck eat and meet.  The campground will be open (weather permitting) for $10.00 per night.  Please call Lynda Bowers at 215-622-6394 if you wish to camp.  We will gather at the shop about 10:30 AM, eat around noon, and then jam the afternoon away.  Everyone is asked to bring a dish and/or a dessert to share.  So don’t put those good recipes you tried over the holidays away just yet!!!  Cook some more up and bring it to share.  Please contact Lynda Bowers at

215-622-6394 or to let her know what type of food you are bringing so we will have a variety of foods and not just all salads or desserts, etc! The club will provide coffee, tea and paper products.  We hope you can make it as this is always a fun meeting!!

January Music Jam at Coffee Creek RV Park is a group of “old friends” that get together in the middle of winter to play music.  Dates are January 21 to January 25, 2015.  It is located in Santo, TX on Hwy 281, Exit 386, just off I-20 about 45 miles west of Fort Worth, or about 20 miles west of Weatherford.  RV sites and cabins are available by calling the park at 940-769-2277.  Early reservations are encouraged, to help them secure the meeting rooms they need.

On February 5, the Vanderveers will be playing at First Baptist Church in Tom Bean, TX.  At 6:00PM, the church is having a potluck for its members and invited guests.  If anyone would like to attend the potluck, please bring a covered dish to share.  The Vanderveers will play around 6:45 PM.  There is no charge for the concert, however, a love offering will be collected.  If you have not heard these young men play music, then you are in for a wonderful blessing!

February 20 & 21, 2015 will bring us the last Winter Festival of Acoustic Music in Irving, TX at the First United Methodist Church.  This has always been a great festival with lots of workshops.  Headliners this year are Andy Young & Al Tauber, Larry Conger, Arron O’Rourke with Stephen Humphries and Jesse Isley, and many others that have been headliners in the past will also be featured.  For more information look at their website or We hope you can make this date.  It’s sad to see them go so let’s send them off with a great attendance.  You will be blessed with some GREAT entertainment!

Saturday January 3, (tomorrow) the Lindseys’ are hosting a Bunco party at their house.   It will be at 6:30pm and please bring your favorite finger food.  There will be prizes and you are assured to have a “great time.”

Well that’s all the news!!  We hope the New Year will bring you all that you want.
