Dear Friends,
The Red River Valley Dulcimer Club will meet on November 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, 124 West Evergreen in Durant, OK. Free lessons will start at 10 AM, lunch at noon with a meeting and fellowship, and Jam after until 3 pm or we just wear our fingers out, which ever comes first. Please advise if you would like to learn/play Christmas songs at this meeting.
Remember attending the meetings is where we get ideas and decisions are made. So if you are a member who has not attended a meeting in awhile, come back and be an active part of the club. If you are new and interested in being a member in our club come and see what we have to offer. I know you won't be disappointed.
If you are a brand new player HD or MD we welcome you with free
lessons and help. Please call Lynda Bowers ahead of time at
580-434-6231 to arrange for an instructor to be available.
Wow!!! That was fast!! Winter Creek Reunion has come and gone already!! Just doesn't seem possible, but it has. I sincerely hope you were able to be there for one of the best we have had.
There were so many good comments on this year's festival and we love to hear them. That means we are doing it "right" and giving you what you want in entertainers, workshops and concerts. If you have comments feel free to send us an e-mail at
rrvdc.ok@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you.
This year's concerts were outstanding. Guy and Sherrie George, Dave Para and Cathy Barton, Joe Collins, Betty Scott, The Vanderveers and the Saw Mill Vagrants were all so entertaining and willing to share their talents. And of course we can't forget to mention the Bardogas and the Boggy Bottom Babes! We didn't lack for good old time music. What can you say about Dana Hamilton and Jerry Wright as our emcee's!! They do a great job. We had vendors who had everything you might have wanted in music supplies and CD's. So if by chance you didn't make it this year, mark your calendars for the Columbus Day weekend October 9-12, 2014 to be with us. We will look for you!!!
Another festival alert! Mill Fest will be on November 1 and 2 in Kennard, TX. This is Lloyd and April Wright's festival and another chance for you to learn, jam and play music with your friends. Be sure to go to this one if you get a chance. This will be their second year and we are sure it will be just as successful as last year.
David Roth will be doing a song writing workshop in Denison on Sunday December 8,
2013 from 2-4:30 PM. He is an award winning singer and
songwriter with 25 years of singing and writing experience. His

several Chicken Soup for the Soul books and the Kennedy Center to
name a few. So if you have ever thought of writing a song and had
no idea where to start this is the workshop for you. For more
